C&K Architecture Bring Verdala Terraces to Life on Malta’s Tal-Virtu Ridge

The Grand Hotel Verdala, an iconic symbol of Maltese hospitality, was opened in 1971 and closed its doors in 1997. Now, 27 years on, a new chapter is unfolding on this site, with plans for a residential development and a 5-star Hotel & Spa.

AX Group has launched Verdala Terraces, an upscale residential complex in Rabat, featuring 87 luxurious residences designed by C&K Architecture. Situated on the scenic Tal-Virtu ridge, this prestigious development offers an elevated lifestyle with panoramic views of Malta’s stunning countryside. C&K Architecture has played a crucial role in shaping the project’s architectural integrity, ensuring that Verdala Terraces integrates with the historic surroundings of Rabat and nearby Mdina.

The complex will offer a variety of residences, including one to four-bedroom units, panoramic mansions, and duplexes—some complete with private pools. Set on either side of a new five-star hotel and wellness spa, residents can choose from the Royal Mansions or Grand Mansions, each designed to meet a diverse range of preferences and lifestyles. The development will be enriched with exclusive amenities such as an infinity pool and landscaped gardens.
