C&K Architecture Leads Design of New Wind Turbine Component Facility in Ħal Far
C&K Architecture has been selected as the architect for a new project in Malta – the construction of a wind turbine component manufacturing facility in Ħal Far. This project, backed by a €7.5 million investment from Turkish company Gimas, represents a significant milestone in Malta’s green economy and renewable energy sector.
The new facility will cover a 10,000-square-meter area, with C&K Architecture tasked with creating a design that combines efficiency and sustainability. The firm’s expertise will play a crucial role in bringing Gimas’s vision to life, as the company establishes its first manufacturing plant outside of Turkey.
The facility, scheduled to begin operations in the second quarter of next year, will not only serve as a production hub but also include a training academy for apprentices, further enhancing local talent in the green energy sector. Prime Minister Robert Abela, who visited the site alongside Economy Minister Silvio Schembri and Malta Enterprise CEO Kurt Farrugia, praised the investment for its potential to create new jobs in the green economy, particularly for engineers and technicians.
