The project brief spans from determining the optimal ratio for the different building typologies to a macro-level scheme analysis and ultimately the micro design of each unit.
This small-scale urban residential scheme deploys a coherent architectural grammar in the design of the individual lots. Each unit strives for its own identity naturally emanating from specific site characteristics.
Large overhangs are designed with a dual purpose to reach out for view and provide shade without interrupting the flow of the underlying space by structural elements which would otherwise dominate the space.
Madliena Ridge was named the winner of the 2017 MASP Awards Housing Architecture category.
